St. Xavier’s High School, Bharni celebrated its Annual Day “Navras” on 22nd December. The students showcased their talents in the form of spectacular extravaganza wherein around 1000 students of the school took part. Shri T. Subbarami Reddy- Member of Parliament, Rajyasabha was the Chief Guest while Shri Vivek Tankha- Member of Parliament, Rajyasabha and famous gazal maestro Shri Talt Aziz were the esteemed guests present on the occasion.
The programme commenced with lighting of ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries followed by ganesh vandana and live performance by the melodious singers of school orchestra group. Dr. G.S. Patnaik – Managing Director of St. Xavier’s chain of schools welcomed the guests by offering them flower garlands in the presence of Shri S.P. Chaturvedi, LMC Chairman, Ms Hamida Sidiqui- Advocate General, Shri Arun Kumar Thakur- Chairman DPS Muzfarpur, Shri Prabhakar Patnaik- DFO, Shri Mukesh Saraf- CEO, Shri- A. Samantray- AD, Shri. PV Mistry etc.
The school principal, Jitinder Singh Hundal presented the Annual Report of the school wherein he highlighted the achievements of the school in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas.
The stupendous cultural show presented by the students mesmerized the audience. The dance presented by Montessori kids on the tune of jingle bells got standing ovation. The item presented on harmful effects of plastic and use of jute bags created a social message among the gathering.
The nine emotions expressed through different dances on the theme of Navras made the spectators stick to their seats. The expression of Roudra, Veer and Bhayank ras created a sense of thrill among the people gathered there.
Shri T. Subbarami Reddy- Chief Guest and other dignitaries gave away the prizes to the students. The student of the year award (boys) was given to Sidharth Mishra Class XII whereas Aashta Sharma- XII got the same award in girls’ category. The coveted cock house trophy was bagged by Galileo house for the overall performance in different activities throughout the year.
The gazal sung by Mr. Talat Aziz spell bound the audience. The performance of the students in cultural programme was highly appreciated by parents and other dignitaries. Shri. T Subbarami Reddy, Shri Vivek Tankha and Shri Talat Aziz congratulated the school principal, teachers, students and their parents for the achievements of the students.
The programme culminated with vote of thanks presented by the school Vice Principal Mr. Manoj Karemore followed by national anthem. Ms. Nancy Parekh- Head Mistress, Mr. Abhilash Patnaik- Admin Officer, Mr. Subash Roy- Hostel Superintendent, Mr. Pradeep Patnaik, Mr. Rajesh Trivedi, Mr. M.S. Patro, were also present on this occasion.
